Tamila and I are very thankful for another semester to be completed. She finished up her Seminary Wives Institute class last week, and I turned in my last paper on Tuesday! We are looking forward to a “slow” week before I start my winter class, Church History 2, on the 16th. Tamila has greatly enjoyed her SWI class this semester entitled “Eat and Be Content.” The professor discussed a biblical view on food which encompasses the enjoyment of food for God’s glory, and to be content by not overeating. Two truths which must be held together.
Speaking of class, I am currently looking at 9 more classes to finish my masters degree! I finished up my last language class this semester, that is, one year of both Greek and Hebrew completed. It is so close, we can almost taste it (although, I don’t think a paper degree would taste very good)! As for time frame for graduation, we are still considering our options. If I push hard, I could finish in December 2014, but May 2015 would be an option as well.
As for church, we have officially committed to stay at our church merge with Crossing Community Church. We have both enjoyed getting to know a new group of people, though it brings its challenges. However, we cannot be more thankful that God has helped us in the transition, it has run so smooth! We are truly blessed. I have been able to continue leading a small group which is one of the highlights of my week.
Finally, for this past Thanksgiving, Tamila and I volunteered to be in charge of the Thanksgiving Dinner on campus (pictures below). The dinner served 350 hungry seminary students and their families (about 50% international students), who did not have a place to eat. It was great to bless so many families!
We are looking forward to this Christmas season, even though we are staying in Louisville. Some family is going to come out to visit, and we will not be without friends who are staying in town. Pray that our time with family and friends are an encouragement to our souls, as we seek to be a Christ-centered encouragement to others.
Much love from us,
Jeremy and Tamila
