Life always seems to be at break-neck speed in the Griswold home. We were both thankful for a few months over the winter to simply work without taking classes. We were blessed to have time with family and friends in California for Christmas and New Years, and planning on being back in California in June for Ben’s (Tamila’s brother) wedding.
As most of you know, I (Jeremy) took a job as the Event Media Manager at Southern. Basically, my department deals with anything from setting up a projector and screen to a full conference. Currently, we are in the middle of conference season until mid-April. Then a little break and we hit the ground running for the summer conferences. Needless to say, I will be taking school a little slower—like this semester I am enrolled in two classes—but Tamila and I are very thankful for work that I love, and that we can serve local churches and the SBTS community through this ministry.
On top of everything else in life, we are moving! Southern Seminary is doing some major repairs and renovations and we found out that our apartment complex on campus will be used as dorms. So, an opportunity came up to move down the hill to another complex on the back end of campus and we jumped on it. We are quickly packing up our place, sold some of our furniture and we will be out of here by this weekend. We understand that we are crazy. We have been telling ourselves that for the past few days.
Finally, we are excited for an opportunity to go to Africa this summer. The seminary has asked if Tamila and I would lead a group of 15 high school students and a few college students to Uganda as a part of the D3 conference (end of June). We have agreed to lead the team and we are so excited for this opportunity! We don’t have many details as those are being worked out currently, but we will let you all know as soon as possible!
There is much more that could be said, but for now we will say thank you for your prayers and support. We wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the many of you who have loved, cared and prayed for Tamila and me. And for that, we are eternally grateful.
